| “Narrative” as a key focus in contemporary Western literary theory is an important research concentration of the Ricoeurian studies at home and abroad in recent 5 years. The philosophical significance of Ricoeurian narrative poetics, the relationship between Ricoeurian poetics and phenomenology and the relationship between Ricoeurian poetics and hermenutics have been concerned fully, yet less attention has paid to the research on Ricoeurian narrative poetics’ unique view of the text, its interpretation of the self-existence,and its literary value of criticism. Therefore, this dissertation taking Gadamer’s hermeneutics as the theoretical approach, starting with the concepts of “narrative” and “time” and taking the two as basic dimensions, describes, analyzes and evaluates the progress of the achievement of narrative identity,to achieve the goal of demonstrating how Ricoeur’s narrative poetics interprets the self-existence under the existence of the world,so as to accomplish the aim of revealing the literary significance of Ricoeur’s fictional narrative poetics. This dissertation consists of three parts, the introduction, the main body and the conclusion. The introduction part includes research background, literature review, methodology, and research questions, among which, the methodology mainly discusses two key concepts from Gadamer’s hermeneutics, the fusion of horizon and tradition as the perspective of the dissertation with which Ricoeurian fictive narrative poetics’ interpretation on self-existence is analyzed. In the main part, chapter one concentrates on the mediation role of narrative in the lifeworld, through the analysis of the relation between loss time and regained time in Remembrance of Things Past,by which the chapter attempts to establish the statement that narrative as language undertakes the mediation of self-existence in the existence of the world, and thereby completes the mediating goal of text meaning.Chapter two concentrates on the temporal reconfiguration role of narrative, through the analysis of the relation between mortal time and monumental time in Mrs.Dalloway,by which the chapter points out that Ricoeur’s solution to the aporias of time is to present the internal time of narrative,so as to realize the unity and interaction of phenomenological time and cosmological time in narrative, and finally realizing the temporal reconfiguration of self-existence in the whole timeliness.Chapter three concentrates on the role of identity construction of self-existence in fictional narrative, through the analysis of the relation between subjective time and objective time in The Magic Mountain,by which the chapter points out that narrative identity as the product of the dialogue between the reader and the text,is the highlight of intersubjectivity, which reshapes the reader’s experience and life world, updates the identity, and realizes the identity construction of self-existence.The dissertation points out in the conclusion part: Firstly,Ricoeur’s fictional narrative poetics, through the transformation of Aristotle’s poetics and Augustin’s view of time, realizes the interpretating mediation, temporal reconfiguration and identity construction of self-existence;Secondly,Ricoeur’s fictional narrative poetics, cooperating with his view of historical narrative, forms his view of literature, history and daily world, that is,historical narrative and fictional narrative as the imitative reproduction of daily world realizes the elimination of the binary opposition between fiction and history through the dynamic threefold mimesis. |
