Research On Zengzi’s Thoughts Of Filial Piety

As a kind of noble and beautiful emotion in the world,"filial piety" is the basic tone and coagulant of oriental civilization.In the history of the development of filial piety in the pre-Qin Confucianism,Zengzi not only promoted the "filial piety" from theory to "filial piety" for many years,but also put it into practice and constructed his own moral life with "filial piety".He became a worthy filial son in ancient China and was respected as a "holy man" by later generations.Zengzi’s extensive and profound theory of filial piety,in addition to the two thousand years of Chinese feudal society has a profound influence,up to now,it still shines the light of Confucian humanism,but also to contemporary people to enlighten the wisdom.Zengzi’s filial piety thought is divided into four parts: First,introduction.This paper introduces the reason and purpose of this topic,and summarizes the research status of Zengzi’s filial piety thought.Second,the author makes a brief investigation on the meaning of "filial piety" from the source and the initial meaning of its occurrence.And then emphatically to Zengzi before the development of filial piety thought made a brief summary of the general context.Thirdly,the main content of Zengzi’s thought of filial piety is discussed.First of all,in the section of "filial piety as the root of virtue",the ontological significance of "filial piety" is demonstrated,and the ontological basis of "filial piety" as the most basic virtue is discussed from the ontological dimension,so as to strengthen our consciousness of filial piety.In addition,Zengzi himself is a model of cultivating from the inner virtue,and in the process of practicing filial piety and cultivating virtue,he has shaped an ideal personality and achieved a real life,thus providing a real path of learning for the common people.Next,Zengzi attached great importance to his body,the "filial piety" as a section,settled down and got on with people’s pursuit,this paper Combined with Zengzi’s related exposition on "body",focusing on the contents of " keeping the body all " " doing good deeds to parents " and " standing up to show relatives ",it is concluded that Zengzi was filial piety parents begins a beginner’s mind,but more than that,its ultimate purpose can say is that the road practice,so as to realize the sustainable parents life.Fourthly,using the method of philosophical dialectics,this paper makes an objective analysis of Zengzi’s thought of filial piety.Combined with the new background of the Times,it summarizes the important significance of its spiritual core to the contemporary society,especially the role it plays in solving social problems such as moral decline and pension.All in all,as a master of Confucian filial piety,Zengzi’s explanation of the spirit of filial piety itself is not a problem,but with the change of the Times,the interpretation and utilization of his filial piety in later generations need to be further considered.
