As a common Chinese word and high-frequency word,“Bird’s” connotations are quite abundant.This article mainly carries on the semantic analysis and the rhetoric explanation to the “Bird” and its construction words in the complete Tang poems.By means of data statistics,contrastive analysis,theoretical verification,case study and categorical reasoning,this paper studies the "bird" and its reference words in Quantang Poetry from three aspects,namely,the semantic field of sememe and genus,the way of metagenesis of word meaning rhetoric,and the related literary rhetoric phenomena.The paper is divided into five parts:The first is the introduction,which classifies the existing related research results from four aspects,namely,the literary research,cultural research,philosophical research and linguistic research of birds.It is found that the first two aspects of the results is outstanding.The literary research mainly takes the image of bird as the intervention piont,analyzes its aesthetic characteristics and the poet’s spiritual world,the culture research mainly takes the origin,psychology and siginificance of bird culture as the intervention point,analyzes the Chinese national culture and religional bird culture,the philosophsical research mainly takes the living habits of bird as the intervention point,explains a certain philosophical point or truth,the philosophical research is scanty.There are few achievements in linguistic research,mainly in the analysis of the shape,pronunciation and meaning changes of “bird” characters.There are few studies on the semantic and rhetorical generation of “bird” and its construction words ’ participation in word formation in specific texts.There are also no achievements in the study of the multiple rhetorical phenomena of “bird’s” semantic in the whole Tang poetry.The sencond part is the first chapter,based on the principle of poem rhythm and word-formation,142 construction words of “Bird” in the complete Tang poems were extracted,among which 84 were included in the dictionary.After sort out these participative morphemes,we find that disyllabic morpheme is the main form of them,and the morpheme meaning of their’s morpheme mainly involves four aspects: nominal morpheme,verb morpheme adjective morpheme and numeral part of speech morpheme.According to the semantic clustering of "bird" and its construction words,it is found that them in the whole Tang poetry mainly involves five semantic fields: bird,human,time,religion and love.The third part is the second chapter,which mainly analyzes the rhetorical way to generate the meaning of "bird" reference word formation.Rhetorical generation is an important way to generate the meaning of “Bird” reference words.Metaphor,metonymy and allusion are its main means.A few words are generated by personification and exaggeration.The fourth part is the third chapter,which mainly analyzes the literary rhetoric phenomenon of “bird”.The typical images of “ crow,phoenix,wild goose and crane ” are selected as the research objects,this paper probes into the phenomenon of multiple literary rhetoric in the semantic meaning of “Bird”.There are three aspects: The transformation of "black bird" from phenomenon to ethical and moral rhetoric field,the transformation of "Red bird/phoenix bird" from totem to identity symbol,and the transformation of "Yang bird" and "hyun bird" from time and communication symbols to love and religion symbols.The concrete causes can be attributed to the abundant connotation of bird,the totem worship of bird,the infiltration of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,social and psychological factors.The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper,which summarizes the main points and shortcomings of this paper.
