The Impact Of China’s Cultural Industry Development On The Quality Of Economic Growth

Improving the quality of economic growth has gradually become the focus of China’s current economic development.As an important part of the national economy,the cultural industry has the characteristics of low energy consumption and low pollution,which are closely related to the quality of economic growth.So,does the development of cultural industries help improve the quality of economic growth?In this regard,this article first combines the characteristics of the cultural industry with the research framework of the quality of economic growth,and conducts a theoretical analysis of how the development of the cultural industry may affect the quality of economic growth from many different dimensions.Then,using China’s provincial panel data from 2003 to 2017,the fixed effect model and random effect model were used to empirically test the impact of cultural industry development on the quality of economic growth.The results found:(1)As a proxy variable for the overall development of the cultural industry,the higher the location entropy of the cultural industry in each province,the higher the overall quality of economic growth index.(2)In terms of economic growth quality subdivision indicators,the development of the cultural industry has the most significant role in promoting welfare changes and distribution of results,resource utilization and ecological environmental costs,and shows certain positive values for the structure of economic growth and the quality of the national economy..(3)The financial expenditures for cultural undertakings,the R&D expenditures of cultural enterprises,and the investment in fixed assets of the cultural industry in various provinces have all shown positive contributions to the overall quality of economic growth index and different sub-indices.The above results show that the development of cultural industries can help promote the improvement of the quality of economic growth.Based on this,the policy recommendations put forward in this article are: the government and relevant departments should accelerate the construction of a modern cultural industry system to promote the overall development of the cultural industry;promote cultural technological innovation,guide cultural enterprises to strengthen R&D investment;strengthen financial support for the cultural industry;Increase the training of talents related to the cultural industry.
