Shanghai is a very important cultural,political and economic center in modern China.Its unique geopolitics makes Shanghai absorb a lot of western culture and become an important window to spread western music.As an important part of the history of Chinese music journals,the history of Shanghai music journals provides rich historical materials for the study of modern Chinese music history.As the most important part of mass music culture communication,music journals have the important function of cultural guidance and social communication.From the birth of China’s first music journal,music magazine,to the emergence of professional music journals such as aesthetic education,music world,Journal of conservatory of music,Journal of National Conservatory of music,music magazine,music art,Chinese harmonica world,Chinese harmonica world,to drama and music,Yisheng(film and music monthly),etc The emergence of popular music books reflects that the content of Shanghai music journals is constantly enriched,and the types of music journals emerge in endlessly.Publishing different types of music journals for different audiences,and the commercial means of mass distribution can be said to be in the forefront of the times,which makes the market of music journals present a diversified phenomenon.In this business model,music world,founded by Shanghai Xinxing music club,came into being.Music world is a popular music journal founded in August 1938,stopped in December 1939,with a total of 2 volumes and 17 issues,and actually published 14 issues.It published 71 music scores and 111 music literary theories.The musicology circle is still in the initial stage of its attention and Research on the journal music world.Through the interpretation of the journal,it reflects the cultural needs of popular music at that time,and explores the business closed-loop business model formed without the subsidy and support of the government and academic groups.As a typical business model,this business model can have a glimpse of the commercialization of music journals.This paper takes the publication music world as the research object,takes historical materialism as the main point of view,adopts the research method of combining speculation and demonstration to summarize and sort out the historical literature,interprets and analyzes the existing literature about music world in the process of sorting out the data,and makes a deep analysis of the publication from two aspects of social significance and cultural value and structure From the perspective of music history,we can enrich the historical value of the journal music world and fully tap the historical information conveyed by the historical data.The research of this paper is divided into four chapters.Based on the collection,collation and study of the existing literature on music world,this paper makes an in-depth study of the theme of this paper.The first part is the introduction,the main content is the significance of the research,from the history of Shanghai city music,music journals,music associations,harmonica music development and other different angles to analyze the current domestic research results of music journals at that time,while listing its research content,establish and elaborate the unique academic value of this paper;the first chapter is the history of the development of Shanghai music journals in the Republic of China The second chapter makes an extensive and in-depth study on the text of music world from the four aspects of illustrations,music scores,literary theory and special issue.The third chapter analyzes the influence of the commercializati-on experience of music world,including journal pricing,commercial advertising and business characteristics,on the development of the journal The fourth chapter summarizes and combs the social significance and cultural value of music world.I hope that through the research of this paper,I can fully combine what I learned during my master’s degree,excavate the academic value of this popular music journal,music world,and supplement rich historical materials for the research of music history.Through the specific analysis of specific problems,more music theory researchers can understand the importance and influence of this journal on the history of modern Chinese music And achieve the purpose of learning for practical use.
