A Study Of Female Images In Allen Jones’ Works

Allen Jones is a pop artist with great characteristics in contemporary England.His works are devoted to the expression of female images from the beginning to the end.The intense colors and changeable forms make his pictures present a kind of sensory enjoyment and fantasy visual experience between abstract and concrete,reality and surreality.Allen Jones’ installation works of female furniture series make him controversial,but his rebellious character makes him never stop loving and expressing female themes.This article starts from Allen Jones’ Starting with the female theme in Jones’ works,this paper analyzes the development of Jones’ thinking about women step by step.Finally,from the author’s point of view,combined with the representation strategy and controversy of irony in Jones’ works,this paper explores how contemporary art should try to solve the controversial problems without departing from its original intention and idea when facing the discourse system.The main content of this paper is divided into four parts Jones’ personal experience and background cultural trend of thought are briefly summarized and sorted out,and the reasons for the emergence of female images in Jones’ works are preliminarily explored;Then the author explores the visual characteristics of female images in his works,and analyzes how the visual characteristics of female images in Jones’ works are presented through the examples of "erotic" and "materialized" female image works;Next,the author deeply explores Jones’ creative techniques and analyzes how Jones displays the visual characteristics of female images in his works from three aspects: space,painting language and color;In the last part of the article,the author analyzes the controversial issues,representation strategies and cultural positions in Jones’ works,and discusses the aesthetic effect and reflection of contemporary art creation in the face of discourse system.Allen Jones based on his own experience and self concept,Jones insists on the creation of the theme he loves,and constantly breaks through and tries his own style and language.This is also his unique personal charm as one of the main forces of British pop art —— the harmonious integration of the commercial nature of American pop art and the narrative and contradictory elements of British painting has been embodied in him.
