This article analyzes the evolution process and discourse construction of the western literary theory keyword "kitsch" from the perspective of aesthetic modernity,and analyzes its aesthetic presentation,reflection and criticism,unfinished nature in combination with various kitsch phenomena in contemporary society.Research has found that the concept of "kitsch" appeared after the emergence of modernity,while the fact of "kitsch" has existed since ancient times and has been evolving with the development of society;The formation of the concept of "kitsch" is based on the formation of aesthetic modernity,and it is also an extension of aesthetic modernity:Kitsch is the product of aesthetic modernity overcorrecting enlightenment modernity.It has three aesthetic characteristics: aesthetic rebellion,theme cross-border,and connotation tolerance.And it is closely related to romanticism,aestheticism,avant-garde,and postmodernism.Different schools and scholars explains the aesthetic discourse construction of kitsch: Western Marxism’s discourse construction of kitsch has experienced three stages: criticism,reflection,and communicative rationality;modern western psychology believes that the production of kitsch is related to the deep desire,anxiety,and conformity of the public;Among several representative scholars,Clement Greenberg conducted a comparative study of kitsch and avant-garde,Matei Calinescu regarded kitsch as a face of modernity,Milan Kundera analyzes kitsch from the three dimensions of philosophy,politics and art.The forms of kitsch in modern and contemporary society mainly include aesthetic kitsch,absurd kitsch,and entertaining kitsch.That the kitsch has had a profound impact on the contemporary era,leading to negative effects such as everyday life becomes kitsch,high culture becomes money worship,passivation of public critical ability.In summary,the kitsch is unfinished,that is,the development and evolution of kitsch is closely connected with the development and evolution of various social cultural types and social life,and it will continue to develop and change in the future. |
