As a part of Chinese traditional culture,the theme of classical gardens is not only a typical representative of classical elements,but also an important medium for Chinese contemporary art creation.Based on the background of returning to traditional culture and relying on the theme of classical gardens,this paper explores the manifestation of classical garden themes in the development of contemporary art in the field of traditional culture.Through the re-examination of traditional culture and the research on the works created by artists of various periods,combined with my own knowledge and experience,I strive to use classical garden themes to guide the creation at this stage.This paper is mainly divided into three parts: The first part analyzes the relationship between classical gardens and paintings,and explores the development characteristics of gardens and paintings in various periods from the historical process and ideological origins,as well as the deep influence of gardens and paintings on Confucianism and Taoism.Interpretation,hermit culture,and the influence of landscape plots are the theoretical basis for the rest of the chapters;the second part studies the visual characteristics of classical garden themes in contemporary paintings,specifically from the aspects of color,line,overall structure,and artistic conception.It shows the different artistic techniques and aesthetic feelings of contemporary artists for garden themes;the third part summarizes the form of the garden painting in the contrast between black and white,straight and curved,sparse and dense,and hidden and exposed.Aesthetics is used in graduation creation,and "Taihu Stone" in the garden is selected as the theme of graduation creation,further exploring the value of classical themes in painting and aesthetics.
