Study On The Aesthetic Style Of Coen Brothers Film Noir

The Coen brothers are masters of film noir in the United States.As famous independent directors in the United States,their film noir also shows a unique personal style.Unexpected narration,exaggerated and deformable characters,cold colors and the most important black humor make their films unique charm.Cohen’s films are full of reflections on this era and social problems.They often tease and ridicule the characters while retaining a humanistic concern.This paper is divided into the following chapters: The first chapter is the introduction,which elaborates the research background and significance,research status,research content and methods.The second chapter elaborates the concept of "film noir",the Coen brothers’ film noir and the main creation process.The third chapter studies the theme of Coen brothers’ film noir and analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the theme in their works.The fourth chapter analyzes the narrative aesthetic characteristics of Coen brothers’ film noir,mainly from three aspects of narrative style,narrative perspective and narrative space.The fifth chapter presents the characteristics of the audiovisual aesthetics of coen films,which have been able to use the aesthetics of violence to present a unique audiovisual style.Coen films are full of reflections on the era,reflections on social problems,and their jokers,their jokers keep behind human attention.Through the study of Coen’s film noir,we can re-examine the issue of death and the discussion on human nature.Meanwhile,their film art and skills can also bring inspiration to the creation of domestic film directors,which has reference significance for the development of film noir in China’s mainland.
