Master ’s degree thesis of MTCSOL is a demonstration of graduate students ’ curriculum learning and teaching practice,which reflects graduate students ’problem-solving and writing ability.Investigating the topic selection and writing of Master ’ s theses in Chinese International Education is not only conducive to improving the quality of Master ’ s theses in MTCSOL,but also helps us understand the current situation of Master ’ s training in MTCSOL,so as to further adjust and optimize the training program and promote the further development of Chinese International Education.Based on previous studies and relevant documents issued by the Teaching and Instruction Commission,this paper comprehensively examines the topic selection and writing of Master of MTCSOL dissertations in Sichuan Normal University.This paper finds the following problems in sample papers :the topics are very concentrated,biased in second language acquisition and textbook analysis,less attention to cultural teaching dissemination,intercultural communication and the cultivation of Chinese teachers;the thesis form is too single,the proportion of special research is much higher than the other four kinds of type,practicability needs to be improved;the expression of research methods is not rigorous,writing norms are not uniform,even wrong.Then,through questionnaires to students and interviews with tutors,this paper analyzes the personal and external factors that affect the topic selection and writing of Master of Chinese International Education in Sichuan Normal University.Students ’professional foundation is weak,lack of academic sensitivity and attitude is not serious enough are the internal factors.External factors are mainly reflected in practice,curriculum setting and assessment,school management and resource support.Finally,combined with relevant academic research and the actual situation of Sichuan Normal University,this paper puts forward suggestions for improvement from the aspects of training unit management and resource support,tutors and teachers as well as students themselves.What’s more,this paper hopes to reduce the difficulties of graduate students in the topic selection and writing of dissertations,and help the healthy development of the cultivation of Master of Chinese International Education in Sichuan Normal University. |
