Application Of Traditional Auspicious Animal Patterns In Contemporary Ceramic Decoration

Animal pattern is an important part of Chinese traditional auspicious pattern,and it is also a symbol of our ancestors’ worship and psychological demand for nature.Animal patterns appeared in the primitive period and were widely developed.They reached their peak in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and have continued to this day.At the same time,auspicious animal patterns based on thousands of years of fine tradition,derived from the ancient ceramic decoration in the unique style and artistic language.Because of its auspicious meaning,it was initially used by primitive people as a hope for food and clothing,and later as a symbol of deterrence,it was used by the royal family to reflect authority,holiness and dignity,and finally evolved into the artistic expression of happiness and good intentions of the common people,with a strong breath of life.Animal pattern embodies the cultural heritage of Chinese ceramic art and reflects the evolution of Chinese aesthetic.In this paper,the traditional auspicious animal patterns in the application of ceramic decoration,from its background,cultural connotation and presentation aspects,through the characteristics of different patterns of the animal image,colour is applied,and picture composition forms were analyzed,and the patterns of the paper adornment value,and explore the auspicious animal patterns in their difference of contemporary art,Reveal its essential meaning in tradition and contemporary.With ceramic as the carrier,animal patterns are refined and combined in the creation practice,and the combination of blue and white,colors under glaze and on glaze technology is used to decorate the body with color painting.It explores more expressions of animal patterns and auspicious meanings in ceramic art,and tries to create artistic works that fit the soul and contemporary aesthetics.
