Study On The Liu Family Of Guian In Song Dynasty

The Liu family of GUI ’an in the Song Dynasty originally lived in Pengcheng.Their ancestors moved to GUI ’an in Huzhou in the Five Dynasties to escape the war.On this basis,the family continued to multiply and grow.This paper traces the origin and lineage of liu’s family,Outlines its rise and fall,summarizes its marriage and social contacts,and discusses its positive influence on the family.By investigating the official activities of liu Shu,Liu Yizhi,Liu Ningzhi and Liu Cen,this paper analyzes the key role they played in the development of the family,and then analyzes the factors affecting the rise and fall of the family,highlighting the characteristics of the family.The Liu family lived and multiplied for several generations,until the fifth generation of Liu Shu,who became an official in the imperial examination,and the seventh and eighth generations of Liu Yizhi and Liu Cen,the family reached its peak.In the ninth dynasty,the family declined rapidly,which lasted for more than one hundred years.Liu’s in-laws included the wu family of Wucheng,the Fu family of Shanyin and the Hu family of Yuyao,the Wang family of Linchuan and the Fan family of Wuxian,as well as the warrior family of Jinyun Zhan,which established a tangled marriage network.He built a complex network of interpersonal relationships with scholars such as Sima Guang,Fan Chunren,Su Shi,Li Guang and Zhao Dingchen.The mutual support and communication between liu’s family and his in-laws and friends is beneficial to the development of the family.The Liu family is a family with high literary accomplishment.The relationship between uncle and nephew is very important in the development of the family,and the family tradition of loyalty,filial piety and fraternal ties is also its outstanding characteristic.The rise and prosperity of the Liu family came from the fact that the family members liu Gong,Liu Yizhi,Liu Ningzhi and Liu Cen actively took part in the imperial examinations and attached great importance to education while serving as officials and cultivating a wide range of contacts.Over time,the Liu family’s involvement in political struggles,over-reliance on the patronage system,and lack of property accumulation gradually led to its decline.
