A Different Vision Of The Generation After 1980s’ Literature

Shuang Xuetao,as the later one in the writers’ group of the generation after 1980 s,came to the public by the relatively traditional literary evaluation system that is “academy criticism — publication in journals and magazines — literature prize evaluation”,which different from the way of writers who won the new concept of composition contest.What is unique is that Shuang Xuetao writing not only presented the characteristics of the genre writing of the early generation after 1980 s,but also broke through the established pattern of the genre writing of the previous generation after 1980 s,highlighted the quality of belles-lettres.But in the creation of belles-lettres,his writing showed the depth of thought and the quality of introversion and achieved the distinctive Shuang Xuetao’s writing style.The study on the uniqueness is the key point of this paper.The thesis mainly included three parts,the introduction,the body and the conclusion.The introduction part discussed the reason of the topic selection and combed and expounded the current existing researches about Shuang Xuetao’s creation and the generation after 1980s’ literature research monographs and important study after basically defining the concept of the “post-80s” literature.Among them,much attention was paid to the existing research which put Shuang Xuetao’s works in the generation after 1980s’ creation group.And then clarified the uniqueness and importance of Shuang Xuetao creation in this group,and the rationality of the research viewpoint.The first chapter focused on the specificity of Shuang Xuetao’s genre fiction creating.The first reason is that although his writing started with genre fiction creating and continued the fixed rule of the generation of the generation after 1980s’ literature,he reversed the genre fiction creating and showed the character of belles-lettres.In the youth narrative novels,he wrote about the social reality.The dark reality of family life,the depressing of examination-oriented education system on individual life and the reality of the increasingly differentiated classes showed the loneliness in the life of the generation after 1980 s.In the field of fantasy writing,Shuang Xuetao made the fantasy as a metaphor of individual’s pursuit of freedom and justice,which broke through the value disorder caused by the technicalization and stylization and revitalized fantasy literature as a type of literature.The using of crime suspense literary form due to the creator’s interest in mystery case.The mystery that after the meticulous penetration in the novel called for the missing fair and ideal before.Therefore this type of writing sought to the public feeling and human nature and had the aspect of belles-lettres,which was different from the panic and irritation that brought by the traditional crime thriller novel.It highlighted the quality of the belles-lettres that the previous genre fiction creating lacks.The second chapter discussed the historical consciousness in Shuang Xuetao’s novels,which was also seen in the comparison with the writers who is the generation after 1980 s.Yanfen street was the historical narration of his writing,Shuang Xuetao recreated the process of historical violence in the period of “the Cultural Revolution” passed and eliminated between generations,and represented the hidden secret of history on individual psychology and destiny.In the retrospective of the history of the 1990 s in northeast China,the novelist focused on the deindustrialization of the old industrial bases,reappeared the history and individuals’ predicament buried in the industrial ruins,and revealed the inquiry of the previous era on the past and the future.It was significance to supplement the writing of this period of history in the contemporary literature.The third chapter emphasized on the reconstruction of the father-son’s relationship in Shuang Xuetao’s creation.The presentation of the relationship between father and son,which came from the writers’ life experience firstly.In the repeated construction of his father’s image,the writer himself also expressed his regret for his father’s early death and his nostalgia of his father.On the other hand,Shuang Xuetao’s showed his difference in handling of the father-son relationship since the the absence of the image of the father was a common rule in creation of the generation after 1980 s.However,Shuang Xuetao’s understanding of the suffering fate of his father’s generation showed in his works became the opportunity for his son’s generation to connect with his father’s generation.The writing of the story of revenge and the experience of leaving showed the return of his son’s generation.Such a happy ending was not the final pursuit of Shuang Xuetao,and what was the life like after coming back was also the issue he pursuit.In the description of the survival situation of the children generation,he described the growth after the trauma of the children generation,“will never be defeated again”declared the existence of the children generation,and showed the unique angle of writing of the relation between generations in the “post-80s”.The conclusion part mainly discusses the limitations and deficiencies of Shuang Xuetao’s creations,but on the other hand,we should also hold a more tolerant attitude with Shuang Xuetao’s creation and understand his own predicament as a creator.To sum up,for the “post-80s” literature,Shuang Xuetao’s writing which generated new literary energy based on the fixed rules created by his predecessors,which presents its own uniqueness.
