| Objective: In this study, based on the background of grandparents-parents co-parenting,a moderated mediation model was constructed to examine the link between family socioeconomic status and self-supporting behaviors among 3-6years.Methods: A total of 8050 families participated in this study. They anonymously filled out questionnaires regarding family socioeconomic status,grandparents-parents co-parenting relationships, grandparental lineages and self-supporting behaviors. Results: The results indicated that:(1)after controlling for age and gender, family socioeconomic status had a significantly positive prediction for the self-supporting behaviors;(2)compared with paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents were more beneficial to grandparents-parents co-parenting relationships mainly in the dimensions of co-parenting closeness,co-parenting support,co-parenting recognition and division of labor. The grandchildren’s self-supporting behaviors’ scores of paternal grandparents are significantly lower than maternal grandparents excepted that there is no significant difference in the dimension of academic independence;(3)grandparents-parents co-parenting relationships mediated the relationship between family socioeconomic status and the self-supporting behavior;(4)grandparental lineages moderated the first and second path of the mediation. In particular, maternal grandparents can accelerate the positive effect of family socioeconomic status on grandparent-parents co-parenting relationships, and grandparent-parents co-parenting relationships on self-supporting behavior of 3-6 years old children. Conclusion: The results revealed the mechanism between family socioeconomic status and self-supporting behaviors, expanded the co-parenting ecological model, and have certain practical significance for the cultivation of children’s self-supporting behaviors. |
