Xie Xing(1420-1493)is a scribe in the early Ming Dynasty, loved Du Fu’s poetry in his later years and wrote a book which is called "The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry".The book selected Du Fu’s seven-character classical poems, divided into two volumes, and published in 1942.People in Ming Dynasty like to comment on Du Fu’s poetries, and especially concentrate on Du Fu’s annotations. The anthology of ancient poems is only the "Annotations of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry”,so this book is particularly precious. However, the biography is rare and the annotator is not well-known,the book has not attracted sufficient attention from the academic community. This thesis will discuss Xie Xing and his book " The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry ".In the introduction, this article summarizes the characteristics of Du Fu’s ancient poems, and explains the research status, significance and value. There are four chapters in the text. The first chapter briefly introduces the life of Xie Xing and his literary creation. This part emphatically introduces the reasons for his creation. The second chapter refutes the academic understanding of " The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry ".At the same time the chapter introduces the edition, the style, the contents of annotation.Xie Xing’s notes is mainly from the aspects of background, textual research, historical interpretations of allusions to interpretation, improper discrimination, generalization, and poetry. In the explanation part,Xie Province focused on the background of poetry creation;in the commentary part after the poem,he focused on famous things, allusions and historical facts. When explaining and commenting,Xie Province often cites old notes from his predecessors. To explain the poetic part,Xie province generally adopts a general structure of interpreting poetry, that is,to refine the poem and poems first, and then proceed from sentence to sentence.Refined poems are concise and accurate, and the sentences are explained in simple sentences, similar to vernacular translation. The third chapter mainly analyzes the commentary angle of "The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry " and discusses the book’s poetic thoughts from the perspectives of poetry, poet and commentator Xie pays attention to the "implication" of poetry and emphasizes the role of readers. He sought to "everything comes with his own,do not have his own use".Annotating Du Shi’s purpose is to "spontaneously" love, especially the feeling of resentment and irony.Xie Xing always explores the unsuccessful officialdom’s feeling in Du Fu’s poetry.Due to a similar "no-encounter" situation to Du Fu,Xie Xing was particularly able to discover the unforgettable sighs in Du Fu’s poems. In addition,he also paid special attention to the poetic value of Du Fu’s poems, and often used these poems to convey his expostulation of the monarch. The fourth chapter discusses the value and negligence of "The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry ".This article starts from two perspectives of Du Shi’s Poetics and Hermeneutics and excavates the value of Du Shi’s Annotations to Ancient Times. The "The Annotation of Du Fu’s Classical Poetry " is the first annotated version which selected Du Fu’s classical poetry.Besides,Xie Xing’s theories are newness and insightful, which have a certain impact on future generations. And he excavates the angle of poetry evaluation and enriches the connotation of Du Fu’s poetry. In terms of hermeneutics,Xie Xing’s old research stated that refutes mistakes,at the same time eliminates complexity, and pursues to maintain the purity of the solution. To some extent,it has refined the content and methods of annotation. However, due to the limitation of personal learning and the prevailing atmosphere, the book has many deficiencies. The review of the poem is too brief, the description is not clear, the research is insufficient, the interpretation of the poem is biased, and there is a tendency to overdo it.Therefore,we need to take advantage of strengths and avoid the weaknesses when we use the book.
