| Vocabulary plays an important role in language learning and is used throughout the process of learning English.With the continuous development of information technology in education and changing learning styles,teachers are also trying to explore new teaching methods to facilitate teaching.The micro-lecture,as a new type of teaching resource,is attracting the attention of many educators.In recent years,micro-lectures have also been increasingly used in English teaching.Some studies have shown that micro-lectures for English teaching can help students learn effectively.However,there are relatively few studies on the application of micro-lectures to English vocabulary teaching.Therefore,this study attempts to assist the teaching of English vocabulary in junior high school with the help of micro-lectures,aiming to explore the effect of micro-lectures in English vocabulary teaching and to propose corresponding improvement suggestions according to the problems that arise.This study was based on constructivist learning theory and audiovisual teaching theory,and two classes of the No.X junior high schools in Yining City were adopted as the subjects of the study.The control class used the traditional vocabulary teaching model and the experimental class used the microlectures-assisted vocabulary teaching model.Through tests,questionnaires,and interviews,the authors investigated the following two research questions:(1)What are the effects of using micro-lectures to assist English vocabulary teaching on students’ vocabulary achievements?(2)What changes have happened in the current situation of junior students’ vocabulary learning through the application of micro-lectures?The results of the study showed that(1)Microlectures-assisted English vocabulary teaching can help improve students’ English vocabulary achievements.(2)The use of microlectures-assisted English vocabulary teaching can effectively improve students’ current vocabulary learning situation,especially in terms of vocabulary learning views and vocabulary learning strategies.After the teaching experiment,students were able to gradually master the method of memorizing words according to the actual situation.Therefore,based on the above findings,this study verifies that micro-lectures can assist in teaching English vocabulary and provides new insights and methods for teaching English vocabulary in junior high school. |
