Under the impetus of the ecological tide, the construction industry has entered a new stage of development. As a subdivision in architecture, landscape architecture blends practicability with ornamental values, thus gradually entering the research field of vision. The Report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that building an ecological civilization is vital to sustain the Chinese nation's development.Based on the realization that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,we must adhere to our fundamental national policy of conserving resources and protecting the environment, cherishing the environment as we cherish our own lives. The source text of this translation practice,Landscape Architecture Theory, emphasizes the ecology of landscape, which is in line with the construction of China's ecological civilization. The author selects the first and second chapters of this monograph for translation practice, and then summarizes the difficulties encountered in the translation process and puts forward effective methods to solve them.Written by American landscape architect Michael Murphy,Landscape Architecture Theory is mainly concerned with the research of landscape architecture theory.Murphy employs an ecological method to investigate the relationship between the design object and the living environment, and explores how to design to promote the relationship between human and landscape. As an emerging discipline, landscape architecture has research value and development potential in the field of architecture. Therefore,it is undoubtedly of great significance to translate and introduce foreign research findings in this field to China. The research subject is classified as the scientific and technological text in the field of landscape architecture. The source text has distinctive characteristics, objective and substantial content. It is an academic work with strong reasoning. This translation practice is guided by Peter Newmark's semantic translation and communicative translation theory.Semantic translation emphasizes loyalty to the source text and tries to retain the form and content of the source text. While communicative translation emphasizes the TL readers as the core and makes adjustments to the source text when necessary to enhance the readability of the target text. The author finds that in the translation of landscape architecture texts, semantic translation and communicative translation can be applied to different occasions, and they can also be combined when necessary. This translation practice aims to analyze and summarize the translation skills of English of Landscape Architecture,in order to provide translation strategies for translators of the same text typology in the future. As to the conclusion part, the author analyzes the importance of the translator's search quotient in the translation process. For translators in the era of big data, the competence to obtain effective information through search is the key for the accurate transmission and understanding of information. In addition, the author analyzes the guiding role of translation ethics in translation practice and the relationship between translation ethics and translation practice.
