Nightlife In Poetry Of The Early And Prosperous Tang Dynasty

Night life is an important part of the daily life of the literati in the Tang Dynasty.In the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty,the society was stable,the economy was prosperous,the people lived and worked in peace and contentment,and the nightlife was rich and diverse.Literati take a unique look at the night with their keen poetic thinking.Night life poetry has become a window to visit the hearts of poets in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty,and also a mirror to reflect the style of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.This paper is divided into four chapters.Taking the three aspects of the poets in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty as the starting point,this paper fully excavates the emotional expression and spiritual world of the poets in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty who described the night life in poetry.The first chapter makes a statistical description of the participants,places and forms of night life in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.The rich and diverse night scenes in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty broadened the content and theme of the poetry of the Tang Dynasty,showing the beauty of the times and the life style of the people living and working in peace and contentment.The curfew system was implemented in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.On the one hand,it limited people’s activity space and form.On the other hand,the relaxation of the ban on the Shangyuan Festival greatly stimulated people’s enthusiasm for the night and enriched the content of nightlife poetry.The participants of nightlife in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty were mainly Royal relatives,nobles and scholars.Mountains,forests,temples,boats and lakes were their main nightlife places,and their nightlife forms were mainly night accommodation,banquets and tours.The second chapter mainly discusses the night of feasting and sightseeing in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.The night feasting and sightseeing poetry with the monarchs and officials as the main body describes the bustling scene of Shangyuan Festival and new year’s Eve,as well as the happy scene of the monarchs and officials gathering and feasting,reflecting the unique atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty.The night banquet and sightseeing poetry with literati as the main body shows the communication activities of literati at night,and reveals the official mentality of literati in night banquet and sightseeing.Literati enjoy the moon and drink alone on a lonely night,projecting their unique poetry into the moon and wine,so as to express their feelings and aspirations.The third chapter mainly discusses the night of boat berthing in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.The boat berthing of poets in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty includes four categories: seeing off and sending gifts at night,sailing at night,boating in the lake at night and berthing at night.This chapter analyzes the image and symbolic significance of the poetry of poets in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty at night from the perspectives of image color selection and image combination.The night of boat berthing in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty reflects the poet’s deep life consciousness and homesickness complex.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the night of mountains,forests and temples in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.The poems describing the night of mountain forest temples reflect the personality and personality of poets born in a prosperous era: they not only reveal the poets’ comfortable and leisurely life attitude,the personality spirit of being free from reality and yearning for freedom,but also contain the poets’ complex mentality of official and seclusion.Generally speaking,the colorful night life in the poetry of the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty shows us the social customs and the style of the times in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty from a new perspective,conveys people’s mentality,emotion and spiritual world in the prosperous times,and reflects the characteristics of the vigorous,youthful and dynamic times in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty.
