| Sports movies are kind of different from traditional ones in terms of requirements for actors’ performance.One necessary prerequisite for main actors in sports movies is to possess certain skills and quality in sports.Therefore,the performance in this kind of movie demands special performance skills and methods unlike that of traditional movies.Taking performance methods and the shape of sports athletes on the stage of identity transfer as main objects for research,this passage adopts practical method,case research method and others to combine one sports movie called Who Are We and focuses on the Konstantin Performance System and method acting developed from this system to analyze the shape of sports athletes in the sports movies.Through the description of future development of sports athletes under the background of “sports-education integration”,it further analyzes the physical and mental states of these athletes faced with the problem of social identity crisis,In the end,it uses relevant theories in performance to study the skills and methods to form athletes with multi-dimensional emotions.The main case study is Who Are We is a sports film originally scripted,played by the author in a major role and filmed and produced.Basic content of the thesis is given as follows:The first chapter talks about the topic background of this thesis,that is,the performance difference in sports movies and other types of movies,studies the necessity of performance methods and skills in sports movies and defines the research purpose and meaning of the thesis.The second chapter summarizes researches related to the Konstantin Performance System and makes a theoretical definition of performance,sports movies and other concepts.It also makes a summary of various representatives of “method acting” performance and analyzes the impact of sports movies on performance methods of actors and actresses in a recent decade.Besides,it collects relevant literature of previous academic theses and clarifies the argumentation of general theories related to performance in these sports movies.The third chapter conducts the case research of Who Are We after this film is produced practically.It categorizes characters in the movie into three types: active sports athletes,retired sports athletes and related sports practitioners.The three types of characters are analyzed from their life experience,temper and personality,and cultural foundation.Under the background of “sports-education integration”,different athletes change according to dilemmas in the real society.The proposal of concepts like “sports-education integration” has changed the development of many athletes and provided a better path for their social life in the future.Under the influence of these impact factors,different types of sports athletes are endowed with different images and story-telling methods in Who Are We.After clarifying different character portraits,it lays a good foundation for the further discussions of performance skills and methods.Chapter Four horizontally concluded the sports movies performance techniques through the actor’s’ characteristics and the theme in the movie Who Are We.The actors in the sports movies have to complete and demonstrate high level of physical ability in order to finish performance on screen.This chapter we based on the performance foundation which in Chinese is called “Sound,Stage,Movement and Perform” to bring out overall performance skills,vocal and stage dialog skills,body movement skills,microscopic performance skills,psychological and emotional expression skills,and imagination training skills,in sports movies.Chapter Five vertically explains the idea on how to perform through: pre-shooting stage script reading comprehension exercises,shooting stage targeted sports training,filming stage performance enhancements in different levels,after filming stage reflections and improvements targeting.To stand out the characteristics in sports movies,actors must possess motor skills and athletic temperament.In order to have such,actors have to complete respective sports trainings to learn movie characters personality,master the performance skills in sports movies,and accomplish sports movies’ character building.The sixth chapter makes a summary of this passage,that is,exploring skills and methods to shape multi-emotional sports athletes in the context of “sports-education integration” with some performance theories.It is expected to enrich general performance theories and provide more expressive performance training methods for actors’ performance and creation in sports movies and helping them better shape related characters like athletes. |
