| As the carrier of promoting human geography, cultural programs are attracting more and more attention from Chinese people and government. As an excellent food culture program,Intangible Cultural Heritage Food mainly tells about the colorful and profound food culture in China, humanities, geography, history and some other fields included. The subtitle translation practice aims mainly at cultural communication.Based on the translation task of Intangible Cultural Heritage Food(selected from Rivers Episodes),that is,Love over the Yellow River,Delicacies along the Yangtze River,Dinner by the Xiangjiang River and Delicacies along the South Canal, the translator analyzes the names of kitchenware and dishes, quotations and zero-subject sentences, historical stories as well as some other translation difficulties from the cultural, linguistic and communicative dimensions proposed in Eco-translatology.When translating, the translator adopts such translation strategies as literal translation, liberal translation, domestication and foreignization to deal with different translation problems. At the same time, addition, omission, transliteration and other translation methods are also used for achieving the ecological balance among the source text, target text and the audience,so that the target text has a high degree of integrated adaptation and selection. We should not only deliver our ideas about food to the young generation, but also ley more foreign audiences understand and accept Chinese food culture through the translation practice. In this way,we can boost the promotion of Chinese food culture and help Chinese culture go global.Under the guidance of Eco-translatology,the translator expects that the translation practice report can provide some ideas and methods for the English translation of similar programs, and extend the use of Eco-translatology. |
