| After many discussions and debates on theories of aesthetic experience in various disciplinary contexts and in different spheres of thought, the rapid changes and significant developments in technology and media brought about by scientific progress have led to a greater diversity of artistic forms.Theories of aesthetic experience based on the connotations of modern aesthetics are no longer able to encompass the richness and diversity of contemporary art forms, especially when the ideas and established logical mechanisms of modern aesthetics are used to interpret the aesthetic experience in immersive art, which obviously presents a contradiction and divergence between concept and practice. This paper builds on the context of major changes in art forms influenced by technology, and takes the popular immersive art of recent years as a research thread, grounded in the connotations and characteristics of Western aesthetic thought,to examine the aesthetic experience in immersive art.The study begins with the concept and development of aesthetic experience and defines the extent to which the medium is a factor in contemporary aesthetic experience;it elaborates and defines immersive art;it attempts to explore the ability of the new medium to shape the aesthetic environment in the light of the aesthetic practice of immersive art;it also interprets the aesthetic phenomenon of the infinite shortening of aesthetic distance shown by immersive art;finally,it examines the openness of the aesthetic object in immersive art. Finally, the openness of the aesthetic object and the changing depth of perception of the aesthetic subject in immersive art are discussed in order to summarise the transformation of the aesthetic experience in immersive art brought about by the development of new media. |
