On Plumwood’s Thoughts Of Eco-feminism ——An Interpretation Of Feminism And The Mastery Of Nature

In the 1970 s,eco-feminism emerged in the third wave of feminism.Under the influence of the second industrial Revolution,ecology gradually deteriorated,which aroused the dissatisfaction of feminists.Facing such social reality,eco-feminism formed a theoretical approach to analyze women’s issues and ecological issues from a unique perspective.While continuing this approach,Plumwood launched a profound criticism of the way of thinking of dualism and elevated eco-feminism to a new height.This paper objectively combs and interprets Plumwood ’s eco-feminism from three aspects.First of all,the dualistic thinking mode and its expression form as the critical focus of Plumwood ’s ecofeminism are analyzed in detail,on the basis of which,we can understand Plumwood ’s thoughts on ecological issues and women’s issues.Secondly,based on the basic dualistic structure of rational-nature,this paper analyzes the two ends of dualism and reveals how nature as the other and the rational identity as the dominant in dualism are constructed historically.By taking this construction as the basis of Plumwood ’s analysis of the way to get rid of dualism,this paper discusses in detail how the two sides of dualism are redefined in Plumwood ’s eco-feminism,and then illustrates how the relationship between them is re-established in a non-hierarchical context.Finally,through the contrast of Marx,Engels and Plumwood,differences and similarities in ecological and women problems,reveals the Plumwood,ecological feminism and Marx and Engels about ecological problems and discusses the inner link between women problems,also clear Plumwood,ecological characteristics of feminist theory.On this basis,it makes an objective evaluation of Plumwood ’s eco-feminism.By using the basic view of marxist historical materialism not only reflects on the deficiency and defect of this theory,but also points out that Plumwood DE for the analysis of the dualism and the critical perspective provides a new theory in academic circles,and the construction of ecological civilization in China,as well as the advancement of women’s liberation of the inspiration of positive significance.
