Cultural Consumption And Contemporary Construction Of Miao Dance In Leishan County

This paper mainly analyzes the related cultural consumption phenomenon and the contemporary construction process through the field investigation of the Miao dance activities in each village.The fieldwork locates in Leishan,Guizhou.This area is Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture.The thesis is divided into five parts.The introduction includes,current-research on Miao dance in Leishan,research background,meaning and methods of this thesis.In the first chapter,I describes the music and dance classification in the local knowledge system,especially on Miao music and dance of local customs and ceremonies.In the second chapter,I show the performance activity of different villages observed in field-work.The point of third chapter is the relationship between performance and the cultural consumption in Leishan,I summarize three performance systems adopted by different villages in Leishan and discuss their influence on the cultural of the original village.Talking about the inheritance of music and dance in the context of cultural consumption from the perspective of change.In the fourth chapter,I discuss the performance construction in the context of cultural consumption and value pursuit.After analyzing the process of village cultural resources being transformed into economic capital.I interpret the local value pursuit of cultural subjects,the construction of performances guided by cultural adherence and cultural appeals,and the contradictory relationship between cultural demands and cultural consumption.
