Homework is an organic part of classroom teaching,a bridge between classroom and outside,and a carrier for cultivating advanced knowledge and innovative ability.Under the background of "double reduction" policy,it is imperative to rationally examine the current situation of English homework design,innovate the form of homework,select the content of homework,and achieve the goal of "lightweight and efficient" homework design.A large number of studies have shown that the implementation of layered homework can significantly promote the improvement of students’ learning effect and interest,the formation of learning habits and the change of learning attitude.Therefore,this study will investigate the current situation of the design and application of English homework and stratified homework in senior primary schools,and try to find the existing problems and put forward countermeasures to promote the effective implementation of stratified homework in primary schools.This study by combing the domestic and foreign relevant research results about the layered homework,with their aptitude,multiple intelligences,such as the zone of proximal development theory as the foundation of study,with the help of questionnaire and interview between teachers and students further understand the current elementary school senior English homework and hierarchical design and application of the status quo,through further data analysis and processing,It is found that there are some problems in English homework design for senior primary school students,such as the knowledge of homework purpose,the simplification of difficulty,the unification of content,the foundation of type and the formalization of evaluation.However,teachers also face many difficulties in the design and application of English stratified homework,including simple understanding of the concept of stratified,students’ single stratified standard,simple form of stratified homework and difficult implementation of stratified homework.On this basis,the author makes an in-depth analysis of the causes of the problems,and puts forward the design and implementation optimization strategy of English hierarchical homework based on relevant theories.Aiming at the problem of stratified homework design,we should combine student stratification with "student center" to make stratified homework reasonable.The stratification of homework and "discipline accomplishment" integration,so that the stratification of homework diversification;Combining the evaluation stratification with "student difference" to make stratified operation effective.In view of the implementation of stratified operation,the work inspection should be combined with "group cooperation" to normalize stratified operation;In order to promote the effective implementation of multi-level homework in English teaching,teachers’ training should be combined with "self-promotion" to practice multi-level homework.
