A Study On The Theory And Practice Of The Patriotic Party(Turkey) After The Drastic Changes In The Soviet Union And Eastern Europe

The Patriotic Party(Turkey)is an important left-wing force with socialist ideology in Turkey at present.The history of the Patriotic Party(Turkey)can be traced back to the Turkish Revolutionary Workers and Peasants Party,Which was founded in 1969.The Turkish Revolutionary Workers and Peasants Party was the Maoist party in Turkey at that time.Later,due to changes in subjective and objective conditions,the party organization was reorganized and renamed many times,and changed its name to the Patriotic Party(Turkey)in 2015.After the drastic changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe,especially after the Seventh National Congress of the Workers’ Party,the party’s ideology showed multiple characteristics,such as scientific socialism,Kemarism,Eurasianism,nationalism,anti-imperialism and so on.Today,the party has evolved froman early Maoist party to a left-wing nationalist party.Taking the political and economic development in Turkey after World War Ⅱ as the background and the historical evolution of the Patriotic Party(Turkey)as a clue,this paper focuses on the theory and practice of the Patriotic Party(Turkey)after the drastic changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.Throughout the development history of the Patriotic Party(Turkey)for more than half a century,its development has mainly experienced the following three stages:the period of revolution and struggle.low ebb and short recovery period.the period of change and striving.As an important Maoist political party force in Turkish history,the Patriotic Party(Turkey)played an important role in leading the worker-peasant mass movement and opposing the hegemony of the United States and the Soviet Union.After the drastic changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe,the Turkish Patriotic Party promptly summarized and analyzed the theory and practice of the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the socialist revolution in the 20th century.In 2006,the party updated its guiding ideology,making the party gradually evolve into a left-wing nationalist party.In order to achieve the party’s goals and strengthen unity and cooperation with the world’s anti-imperialist forces,the party actively participated in domestic political elections and held many "Eurasian Choice conferences" attended by progressive parties.In recent years,the party’s influence in China and West Asia has been greatly enhanced because it fits well with the policies of the ruling Erdogan government in solving the Kurdish problem and the Gulen movement.In addition,as a friend of the Communist Party of China for many years,the party participated in the ’High-level Dialogue betwen the Communist Party of China and World political parties" sponsored by the Communist Party of China in 2017,actively introduced China’s "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative into Turkey,expressed support for China’s actions to safeguard national sovereignty on issues related to Hong Kong and border areas,and appreciated the great achievements made in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Since the outbreak of COVID-19,the party has closely followed the trend of the pneumonia epidemic in China and highly affirmed the great efforts made by the Chinese government and people to combat the epidemic.However,the further development of the party is also faced with the dilemma that it is difficult to break through the existing party pattern and the ability of theoretical reform to be improved in the short term.The study of this paper is helpful to understand the historical development of the Patriotic Party(Turkey),to define the nature ofthe party,and to understand its theoretical propositions and practical activities.At the same time,it has certain practical significance to further deepen the cooperation between the Patriotic Party(Turkey)and the Communist Party of China,the understanding and mutual trust between the Chinese and Turkish peoples.
