The Study Of The CPC Taking Over And Reconstructing Of Nanning (1949-1952)

Taking over and reconstructing cities plays an important role in consolidating the achievement of the revolution for The Party.Additionally,it is also a key issue for The Party to successfully shift their work focus and establish the state system.Nanning was the capital of Guangxi several times during the period of the Republic of China.After liberation,it was determined to be the capital of Guangxi,and now it is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.At present,there are little academic research on “the takeover and reconstruction of Nanning by the Communist Party of China”.From the perspective of “takeover and reconstruction”,this thesis attempts to investigate the takeover and reconstruction of Nanning by the Communist Party of China from 1949 to 1952,and they breaking the old state system to establish the people’s power and make a series of explorations and attempts for the new order.This thesis also clarifies the basic historical context of The Party’s takeover and reconstruction of Nanning including the focus on the city’s political power construction,economic construction,the social order and other aspects to reproduce the historical panorama of The Party’s takeover and governance of Nanning in the early days of the founding of new China.Finally,this thesis investigates the policies formulated by Party according to local conditions in the process of Nanning’ s takeover and reconstruction to enlighten the current situation.The main body thesis includes four chapters.Chapter one mainly describes the preparation which The Party had done before taking over Nanning,involved in urban takeover policies in different period,the social conditions the Nanning would face before being taken over and preparations that The Party had done for taking over Nanning in earlier stage.Chapter two mainly illustrates the historical process of The Party’s takeover of Nanning.It points out that the Nanning Military Control Commission plays an important role in ensuring the normal operation of the city and maintaining social public order,and The Party’s work for taking over Nanning in all aspects are also present.Chapter three mainly expounds the construction of political power and social reconstruction of Nanning by The Party,which involved in breaking the old state machinery to establish a new political power,initially restoring the economy and developing production and reforming groups and organizations that affect social order.The fourth chapter summarizes the experience and inspiration of Nanning’s takeover and reconstruction.
