| Regional development involves economic and social development,it’s also a political issue,playing an important role in social stability,economic development,resource conservation,environment protection and the all-around development of human beings.On the basis of analyzing the theoretical sources and realistic conditions of Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development,this paper summarizes the main contents,the distinct characteristics and the significance of the theory.Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development helps solve the unbalanced and uncoordinated problems.The paper is divided into four parts.The first part analyses the theoretical sources and realistic conditions of Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development.Through the analysis of Marx and Engels’ s regional development theory and the thoughts of several generations of Central Leadership Collectives of the CPC,we can see that these theories have laid a theoretical foundation for Xi Jinping to explore regional development issues.This part also analyses the international situation,the new normal of China’s economy,the Two Century Goals and the present situation of regional development.The second part summarizes the main contents of Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development.This part introduces the basic goals,strategic layout,mechanism innovation and organizational support.Xi Jinping stresses on enhancing the top-level design and mechanism innovation under the unified leadership of the CPC.Besides,he has put forward a series of concepts,including the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative,the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt and so on.The third part probes into the distinct characteristics of Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development.From Xi Jinping’s discussion and practice,it is not difficult to see that Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development has the following characteristics of adhering to the development concept of opening up,taking accurate measures,emphasizing construction of ecological civilization,sticking to the people-centered philosophy of development.The fourth part summarizes the theoretical and practical significance of Xi Jinping’s theory of regional development.The theoretical significance of his theory lies in that it not only enriches Marx and Engels’ s theory of regional development,but also improves the theory of the CPC.While the practical significance lies in that it’s beneficial for strengthening the concordance and sustainability of regional development,maintaining political stability,state security and national unity.Besides,Xi Jinping has been contributing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the reform of global governance system and building a community with a shared future for mankind. |
