A Political Analysis Of "New Guizhou Phenomenon"

Guizhou’s economic development has ranked behind the whole country for a long time,and the number of poor population was the most in the country.Such a phenomenon was called as “Guizhou phenomenon” by scholars.But since the Development of the West Regions,especially 2010,the speed and achievements of Guizhou’s development have made the whole country look at it with new eyes,even the whole world.It was hailed by Xi Jinping as “the epitome of China’s great strides forward” and also called as “new Guizhou phenomenon” by scholars at home.In this regard,there is a core question that why “Guizhou phenomenon”can be transformed into “new Guizhou phenomenon”? or what the primary cause of “new Guizhou phenomenon” is? That is to say,is “new Guizhou phenomenon” the main result of the market-driven or more of the government’s initiative?Therefore,this paper attempts to analyze it from the perspective of political science,so as to understand this “epitome”,and then learn the “Chinese model”.As for the political analysis of “new Guizhou phenomenon”,this paper is mainly based on the theory of developmental state through the study of various documents,and it starts from the two dimensions of the central government and the local government to make a qualitative analysis of the government’s actions in the process of the transition from “Guizhou phenomenon”to “new Guizhou phenomenon”.So here comes to the conclusion that the developmental state has different development in different periods of China,and “new Guizhou phenomenon” has come into being under the leadership of the developmental central government and local government.That is to say,the core of both “new Guizhou phenomenon”and “Chinese model”is to allow the government to play a key role in the development of the economy,and the government should make calculated and rational market enhancement to promote the development of the economy,or it can be said,it is power that drives the economy.But at the same time,will the developmental state be viable when the unbalanced and inadequate development has become the main contradiction of China society and the world is facing the great change which has not happened in a century?That’s something to think about.
