| In the context of economic globalization,regional economic cooperation has become an irreversible trend.The Lancang-Mekong Cooperation(hereinafter referred to as the LMC)mechanism has become a new highlight of sub-regional cooperation due to its unique innovations and characteristics,and has attracted widespread attention from the international community.Since the launch of the Lancang-Mekong cooperation mechanism,all participating parties have been actively cooperating,and the mechanism has achieved great results,which has helped to promote the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative.However,the Lancang-Mekong cooperation mechanism is in the early stage of operation and is facing many problems at present and in the future.The most prominent of these is the difficulties faced by law enforcement and security cooperation in the Mekong River Basin,which has led to many tragic cases in the entire Mekong River for a period of time.The root cause of the problem is mainly caused by the regional physical geography,social environment,and the differences in the degree of law enforcement in various countries,which poses a huge challenge to law enforcement security cooperation.This article studies and thinks about the progress and challenges of cross-border law enforcement cooperation under the Lancang-Mekong cooperation mechanism,and then puts forward a few suggestions,hoping to make a small contribution to the "safe river" process. |
