The Impact Of Equalization Of Basic Public Services On Urban Rural Income Gap

At present,the income gap between urban and rural areas still exists,which has an impact on social development.Therefore,the government has issued many policies to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas and achieve social equity.In the western region,Sichuan Province is an important province,and its income gap is worth studying.In particular,in terms of basic public services in Sichuan Province,the government has introduced policies to increase supply,the degree of equalization has been improved,and the income gap ratio has also decreased year by year.Based on this,this paper takes Sichuan Province as the research object to explore the impact of equalization of basic public services on urban-rural income gap.In 21 cities(states)of Sichuan Province,the data from 2009 to 2018 are analyzed and calculated by regression model.First of all,using the comprehensive evaluation method to construct the index system,we can get the equalization of basic public services;secondly,we can classify the equalization degree to study the impact of basic public services on urban-rural income gap under different equalization levels.Thirdly,through the regression model,the empirical analysis results are obtained.Finally,in the basic public service equalization index system,analyze the impact of each index on the income gap.The results show that: the equalization of basic public services can narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas.At the same time,in the case of different degree of equalization,the impact on the income gap is not the same.In the areas with higher level of equalization,because of the higher level of supply,there is a law of diminishing marginal effect,so the conclusion does not pass the significant test;but in the areas with medium and low level of equalization,the conclusion of narrowing the income gap is drawn.Therefore,this paper proposes to integrate resources as a whole to improve the total supply of basic public services in Sichuan Province;to provide targeted basic public services for different regions according to the degree of equalization;to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas through industrial structure,urbanization level,economic development level and government participation.
