The Study On The Development Of European Ecological Socialism In 21_st Century

The balance between ecological environment,which provides an important material guarantee for human lives,and humankind is the key to the sustainable development of our economy and society.With the rapid development of industry and information revolution,ecological pollution and destruction has become more and more serious that can not be ignored any more.How to deal with these ecological problems,and return to ecological beauty has become an important subject that many western scholars pay close attention to.Western ecological socialism(eco-socialism)put forward the concept of “ecological crisis” and combined ecology with Marxism,in order to explore the root of ecological crisis and build up a harmonious society——ecological socialist.Europe is the birthplace of eco-socialism.The European eco-socialism experienced the process from germination to development and to maturity before the new century.Since 21 st century,some eco-socialist scholars has put forward their own new ideas rich in theoretical and practical value,pushing the development of European eco-socialism to a new stage.China has always attached great importance to the protection of the environment.The study of European eco-socialism is of certain significance to the ecological protection in China.This paper uses the methods of literature analysis,historical analysis and comparative research.It also adopts the Marxist method that combines universality with particularity,connection with development.It focuses on the development of European eco-socialism in the new century and its enlightenment to the construction of ecological civilization in China.The main contents of this paper includes the following three aspects.Firstly,the background and theoretical basis of the formation of European eco-socialism,and it’s development before the new century;Secondly,the main contents of the new development of European eco-socialism in the new century,which can summarized as: the development of the critical thought of capitalism,the development of the construction thought of the future eco-socialist society,and the development of practical thought to realise eco-socialist society.It especially focuses on Derek Wall,Jonathan Hughes and other important scholar’s views.Thirdly,it analyzes theoretical value and deficiency of the development of European eco-socialism in the new century.Then,we can draw a conclusion that we should pay attention to the complexity of the root of ecological problems,treat economic globalization objectively,and form a consensus on ecology protection,building a community of life for man and nature.
