With the country’s emphasis on vocational education and the reform of basic education, secondary vocational education has changed from planned system to market system, and secondary vocational schools have entered a stage of rapid development.Secondary vocational schools not only shoulder the responsibility of cultivating a large number of qualified workers for the industrialization, urbanization and modernization, but also meet the aspirations of some students and their parents.Vocational education is booming, but it is still in the weak link of China’s educational cause. The social prejudice and discrimination against secondary vocational schools lead to the quality of school students and other problems. As the primary school managers and the leaders of the healthy growth of students, the head teachers of secondary vocational schools are inevitably facing great professional pressure. The occupational pressure of the head teachers in secondary vocational schools is not only related to the physical and mental health of the head teachers themselves, but also related to the development of schools and the educational effect on students. In this study,13 head teachers of a secondary vocational school in Nanjing were interviewed and 163 of them were interviewed by questionnaires. The content of the interview includes the overall level of perceived occupational stress, and the factors causing occupational stress of head teachers in secondary vocational schools are understood from the six dimensions of student factors, achievement pressure,self-development needs, family and interpersonal relationship, work load and career expectation. The quantitative survey measures the overall stress level of the head teachers in secondary vocational schools and the source and degree of occupational stress of the head teachers in vocational schools in the above six dimensions. The results show that the overall occupational stress level of the head teachers in secondary vocational schools is high.Among the six dimensions of occupational stress, the average stress of work load is the highest, followed by career expectation, student factor,self-development need, achievement pressure and family interpersonal pressure. At the same time, the head teacher also showed a lot of pressure, mainly reflected in "too many and complicated materials required by the school" and "can not fully meet the requirements of students and parents".Based on the analysis of the internal factors of the occupational stress of head teachers in secondary vocational schools,it is found that there is no significant difference in the occupational stress among gender, age, marital status, educational background, teaching discipline, class nature, class object and grade. However, there are significant differences in occupational status and professional title level. The survey shows that the occupational stress of teachers and headteachers is higher than that of other groups. In view of the status quo of the occupational pressure of the head teachers in secondary vocational schools, this paper puts forward some suggestions to alleviate the occupational pressure of the head teachers in secondary vocational schools from three aspects:the social department in charge, the school and the head teachers in secondary vocational schools.Education departments to strengthen, investigation and study of secondary vocational education to secondary vocational teacher development policy, the school to improve the teacher in charge work regulations, reduce work load pressure, broaden the head teacher development space, stable "outstanding class teacher" team, strengthen the teacher in charge business training, promotes the teacher in charge management ability, pay attention to the construction of campus culture, the teacher in charge mental health maintenance. In the face of the student factor pressure, the teacher in charge should try to find the correct method;Facing the pressure of self-development,we should pay attention to self-reflection.Use time management strategies in the face of workload pressures; In the face of family interpersonal pressure, learn to communicate and empathy;Facing the pressure of career expectation,we should make career planning and establish correct career cognition.Learn to shift your focus and work regular hours to reduce stress.
