| According to the concept of Positive Youth Development, there are abundant and effective external development assets in the environment of life, study, entertainment and so on.The effective use of these development assets can promote the positive development of adolescents,Learning is an important task that adolescents at this stage need to face for a long time, and academic engagement is an important expression of the positive development of adolescents. Therefore,it is important to explore the relationship between external development assets and adolescent learning academic engagement. At the same time,if adolescents get more situational assets, they will have more positive effects in the development process,Scholars have proposed a cumulative risk model in human development research, which assumes that the accumulation of risk factors affects development outcomes,If there are more risk factors, the incidence of individual clinical problems will be higher.Based on the cumulative risk model, this study puts forward the cumulative effects of external development assets, and discusses the ownership of external development assets of adolescents and the cumulative effects of external development assets on academic engagement. In the adolescent stage, the individual’s intentional self-regulation ability is also constantly improving, which actively coordinates individual and environmental requirements, the relationship between assets and individual goals, and thus promotes its positive development. That is,the cumulative effect of external development assets can affect adolescents’ academic engagement through intentional self-regulation.Therefore,this study investigated whether intentional self-regulation plays a mediating role in the cumulative effects of external development assets and academicengagement.Based on the above,1300 junior high school students in Zhangqiu city of Jinan were investigated by cluster random sampling, external development assets scale, academic engagement scale and adolescent intentional self-regulation scale. The results were as follows:(1)There were significant differences in the scores of intentional self-regulation among adolescents of different genders, and the scores of girls were significantly higher than those of boys.(2)The scores of accumulative external development assets, intention self-regulation and academic engagement of adolescents in different areas were significantly different, and the scores of urban adolescents were significantly higher than those of rural adolescents.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between cumulative external development assets index, academic engagement, and intentional self-regulation.(4)External development assets have a cumulative effect on academic engagement. The more types of external development assets adolescents own,the higher the level of academic engagement they are.(5)Intentional self-regulation plays a part of mediating effect between cumulative external development assets index and academic engagement. |
