Research On The Influence Of Regional Research Collaboration Level On Research Output Of Chinese Universities

With the rapid progress of society and the rapid development of economy,scientific and technological innovation has gradually become one of the important driving forces of economic and social reform,and research output is an important source of scientific and technological innovation.But with the rapid development of technology,research activities gradually show the characteristics of difficult tasks,complex research problems,and multi-disciplinary combination.Therefore,the limitations of individual research activities are becoming more and more obvious,especially in the case of limited resources,individual researchers have more limited support in knowledge,technology,equipment,and policies.Against this background,research activities are more dependent than ever on inter-organizational cooperation in personnel,funding,technology,and equipment.In addition to research collaboration within universities,knowledge exchange and resource sharing with universities in other regions are also important research collaboration methods.Therefore,how to improve the research output by improving the regional research collaboration level of universities has become an urgent problem to be solved.The phenomenon of research collaboration has always been a hot issue in the field of research management at home and abroad.Among them,the research on the relationship between research level and scientific research output is an important aspect.Some scholars have studied this issue from various aspects.However,in the past research,scholars mostly concentrated on the micro level of individuals,institutions,etc.,and did not conduct research from a regional perspective.In terms of research methods,most scholars research the relationship between research collaboration and research output through simple quantitative statistical analysis and correlation analysis,and lack of empirical analysis of modeling and consideration of the inertia of research collaboration.Based on the above problems,this paper reviews the related literature on the relationship between research collaboration and research output in the past,and analyzes the current situation of research collaboration and research output to find out the problems and causes of research collaboration and research output in China.Then use the method of social network analysis to explore the regional research collaboration relationship and characteristics of 40 sample colleges and universities,and build a dynamic panel data model based on the "Matthew Effect",using the indicators in the regional research collaboration network of universities,and using GMM to estimate the impact of regional research collaboration level on research output,then use the Granger causality test method to analyze the causal relationship between the regional research cooperation and research output of colleges and universities.Finally,according to the research results,suggestions are given to promote regional research collaboration and improve research output of universities.
