At present,it is an important period of deepening reform in our country,and the initiative of constructing an open curriculum system based on the standard of geography curriculum will change the dull situation of the geography classroom in junior high school in order to promote the development of effective teaching and learning.Among them,the method of geography game teaching can meet the needs of the development of geography teaching,adopt cognitive load theory as the main theoretical guidance of research from the perspective of students’ learning psychology,use literature research method to understand and understand the development course of cognitive load theory and geography game teaching,and provide new practical direction for geography classroom teaching through the two suitable research and curriculum development.Focusing on the theme of the application of junior high school geography game teaching research based on cognitive load theory,the main structure of the article is as follows: The first part is an overview of the background of the previous study and the theoretical development,expounds the purpose meaning,method and thought of the research;The second part is the study of the fit point of cognitive load theory and geography game teaching,so that the game is deconstructed from the perspective of cognitive load theory,and summarizes the general steps and framework of the implementation of the geography game teaching method,expounds the embodiment and optimization process of various cognitive loads in the education of geographical games;According to the level of game design,increase the interest of classroom teaching,improve the learning effect of students,the third part is the implementation of junior high school geography game teaching analysis,according to the student’s cognitive load changes,students’ classroom behavior observation and students’ learning results to explore the impact of junior high school geography game teaching method on cognitive load.The comparison shows that the implementation of geographical game teaching can effectively reduce students’ cognitive load,stimulate students’ interest in learning,activate classroom atmosphere and improve learning efficiency,but in the teaching process it is easy to ignore the teaching content of low-level cognitive load and the problem of class management;Finally,the conclusion part summarizes the research,and expounds the deficiency of the research,and the prospect of the research deficiency and development trend.
