In recent years,China’s economy is shifting from high-speed growth stage to high-quality growth stage,and the focus of the job market also is shifting from the employment rate to the quality of employment.In the meanwhile,the returning labor force has gradually become the focus of social concern with the scale of labor backflow expanding.During the period of going out to work,the returning labors have accumulated human capital and social capital,is it helpful to improve their employment quality after they choose to back home? When people choose to return home with different types of migrant experience,would their quality of employment be any different?Based on the above problems,this paper uses the 2017 China household finance survey data(CHFS)to study the employment quality of returning labor force from the perspective of migrant work experience by using multiple linear regression model and propensity score matching way.In addition,this paper also makes an empirical analysis on the influence of outmigration on the employment quality of returning labor force by the length of out-migration,distance of out-migration and nature of out-migration.The results show that the migrant experience significantly improves the employment quality of returning labors.Besides,the longer length of migrant experience,the higher the employment quality of returning labors.In particular,the migrant experience for more than 3 years plays a greater role in improving the employment quality of returning labors.The experience of working in developed provinces has a greater effect on the employment quality of returning labor than that in undeveloped provinces and in the province.Their former migrant experience can improve their employment quality if they used to be full-time workers.However,the migrant experience,once a temporary worker,reduces the employment quality of returning labor force.In order to test the robustness of the above conclusions,this paper further adopted PSM method for empirical estimation,and also reached consistent conclusions.
