Story comprehension ability is one of the important contents of children’s comprehensive language use ability. It can not only enhance children’s language expression ability, but also enable children’s language schema, social experience and literary quality to develop.Story schema is an important factor affecting children’s story comprehension.Different story schemas will affect different children’s understanding of the same story, and may also affect the same child’s understanding of different stories. In order to explore the rules and characteristics of Yi,Lisu,Zhuang and Han children’s understanding of stories and whether they are affected by relevant factors. This study uses testing methods and combine with related research,to develop a pattern understanding material for ethnic minority children’s story comprehension, and to develop assessment materials for ethnic minority children’s story comprehension of 3-6 years old.548 children were selected for story understanding research, including 150 Han people,150 Yi people,99 Lisu people, and 149 Zhuang people. In order to understand whether there are differences in the results of measuring different stories with the same tool, this study chose two stories. As the research materials for this time, they are "A Pig and A hundred Wolves" and "Lucky Day".Research indicates:1.There is no gender difference in story comprehension, but girls’ overall story comprehension scores are better than boys’,but in terms of story theme comprehension, boys of the Zhuang have better scores than girls.2.Whether it belongs to left-behind children will affect children’s understanding and construction of stories.Left-behind children are affected by factors such as family living environment, family upbringing methods, and ethnic culture. The stories of non-left-behind children are better than those of left-behind children.3.Children’s story comprehension ability increases with age,and the 3-year-old children’s story comprehension scores are not significantly different in all dimensions. The growth rate is the fastest between 4 and 5 years and a half, and between 5 and a half to 6 years old.In the half stage, the growth rate of children’s story comprehension slowed down.4.There are differences in the understanding of stories among various ethnic groups. In this study, due to the influence of economic factors, family environment, and ethnic culture, the children of the Yi and Lisu children are significantly better than Zhuang and Han children in terms of story comprehension. The main reason is that there are too many left-behind children among Han and Zhuang children.Zhuang children are affected by their own culture, and language communication has become an obstacle to Zhuang children’s story understanding.5.The level of parental education has an impact on children’s understanding of stories.Children with low education level of parents have better story comprehension than children with medium education level, but children with high education level of parents have the best story understanding performance. Finally, according to the characteristics of children’s story comprehension in this study, guidance and scientific education suggestions are provided to the parents and teachers of the children to facilitate the story comprehension.
