| Objective:This study took 56 college students aged from 18 to 20 years old as the research object, explored the influence of exercise intervention on college students’ WM and BDNF level, revealed the relationship between exercise intervention,WM and BDNF,provided new scientific evidence for elucidating the relationship between exercise intervention,WM and BDNF,and provided practical basis for developing targeted exercise intervention programs to promote college students’ WM.Research methods:56 college students aged 18-20 years were selected as research objects, and were divided into control group(N=26)and experimental group(N=30)according to the principle of voluntariness. The experimental group received exercise intervention for 9 weeks, while the control group received routine daily life.2-back task was used to evaluate the changes of WM of college students before and after exercise intervention, and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to analyze the changes of BDNF level in peripheral serum of college students before and after exercise intervention.Results:(1)9-week exercise intervention can promote the 2-back reaction time of WM of college students[F(1,54)=30.10,P=0.00,partial η2=0.36];The time × group interaction of WM 1-back reaction[F(1,54)=2.69,P=0.11,partial η2=0.05]was not significant.(2)9-week exercise intervention can significantly improve the BDNF level of college students[F(1,54)=7.36,P<0.01,partial η2=0.12].(3)After 9 weeks of exercise intervention, there is a significant negative correlation between BDNF changes and WM changes in 2-back reaction time(r=-0.44,P<0.001).(4)Exercise intervention has a significant predictive effect on WM(B=-1.24,P<0.001),and when the intermediary variables are put in,exercise intervention has a direct effect on WM Exercise intervention can predict WM significantly(B=-1.24,P<0.001),and exercise intervention can predict BDNF significantly(B=-1.03,P<0.001).(5)The upper and lower limits of Bootstrap95%confidence interval of mediating effect do not contain 0,which indicates that exercise intervention can predict WM through BDNF.The direct effect of exercise intervention on WM accounted for 83.73%,and the intermediary effect of BDNF on WM accounted for 16.27%.Conclusion:The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Exercise intervention can positively promote the WM behavior of college students;(2)Exercise intervention can change BDNF level;(3)The improvement of college students’ WM performance caused by exercise intervention is related to the improvement of BDNF level, and BDNF can play an intermediary role in the process of improving WM by exercise intervention, suggesting that the molecular biological mechanism of exercise intervention promoting college students’WM may involve the change of BDNF level. |
