| Objective: To explore the influence of public-stigma on the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students,and the mediating role of self-stigma and the moderating role of self-esteem.Methods: 703 students from two full-time high schools in Zhengzhou were selected to fill out the Public-stigma Scale(PDDS),Self-stigma Scale(SSOSH),Self-esteem Scale(SES)and Professional Psychological Help-seeking Attitude Scale(ATSPPHS)by convenience sampling,the data were analyzed by descriptive statistics,independent sample t test,Pearson product difference correlation analysis,mediating effect test and moderating effect test.Results:(1)There are significant gender differences in the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students(t =-3.857,P < 0.01).(2)Self-esteem and attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking are negatively correlate with public-stigma and self-stigma(r=-0.27、-0.38、-0.43、-0.66,p<0.01).Public-stigma is positively correlates with self-stigma(r=0.42,p<0.01).Self-esteem is positively correlates with attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking(r=0.38,p<0.01).(3)Public-stigma significantly negatively predicts the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students(β=-0.367,R2=0.157,p<0.01).(4)Self-stigma plays a mediating role in the relationship between public-stigma and attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students,and the mediating effect value was 67.26%.(5)Self-esteem plays a moderating role in the relationship between self-stigma and attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students.Conclusions:(1)In the face of psychological problems,the girls are more active in attitude towards psychological help-seeking than the boys.(2)Public-stigma negatively predicts the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students,including the direct influence and the indirect influence transmitted through self-stigma,and the indirect effect occupies a larger proportion.(3)Self-esteem can moderate the influence of public-stigma on the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking of senior high school students.The higher the level of self-esteem,the more positive the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking,but no matter the level of self-esteem,self-stigma negatively predicts the attitude towards professional psychological help-seeking. |
