Transformation is an important feature of Chinese society at this stage.Among them, rural revitalization and urbanization are the two core contents of the transformation of Chinese social structure. As a market for rural economic activities,it is a window for studying the transformation of rural society and an important understanding of the relationship between urban and rural areas.Entry point. The rural market originated from the small peasant economy in the traditional society. After the reform and opening up,it was deeply affected by the market economy, which is also an important driving force for urbanization.Rural bazaars, which have the characteristics of both traditional agricultural society and modern urban marketization, play a non-negligible role in the process of rural development and urbanization. The mainstream view is that with economic development and urbanization, economic activities will continue to be transformed from rural bazaars.Concentrating on higher-level markets, regular rural markets will also absorb a large number of surrounding rural populations and transform them into normalized towns.Among them, the most representative views include Shi Jianya’s “basic market theory”and Fei Xiaotong’s “village community”."Theory, both theories agree that the bazaar will die out with economic development. This view has also aroused heated discussion in the academic circles. The study selected the Lijiahe township market in southwest Hubei as the focus of attention. It is deep in the southwest mountainous area.It is significantly different from the plains and rural areas in terms of village distribution, transportation and economic level. The local market is in the market period, the size of the market, and the number of participants Shanghai is also completely different from other bazaars.Despite this, the place is also deeply affected by the dramatic transformation of modern society, especially the rural reform and marketization wave in the past 40 years. With the popularity of migrant workers, the income of rural residents has increased.,The bazaar trade is also constantly prospering, but the bazaar in this place has not quickly transformed into a town.Instead,it has shown a state of fragmentation. On the one hand, the market attribute as a trading place has continued to increase, and the bazaar has become more prosperous. This is especially true in the context of deepening market reforms. On the other hand, the trend of market transformation to towns is not obvious,or even into a state of stagnation. The market still maintains the three-day-one-episode tradition of the last century. The growth rate of residential areas in the market lags far behind the growth of rural housing, and the villagers are more willing to choose between their homeland villages and big cities rather than regional markets. This composite state of prosperity and stagnation is not only a product of the transformation of China’s social structure, but also affects the further transformation of Chinese society, especially the advancement of new urbanization.Understanding the current market is not only a supplement to the historical research of the market, but also a requirement to understand the countryside and promote urbanization.
