Research On The Influence Of Population Agglomeration On The Optimization And Upgrading Of Service Industry

China has entered a new era of economic development.The basic feature is that my country’s economy has shifted from a high-speed growth stage to a high-quality growth stage.Structural adjustment,especially the optimization and upgrading of the service industry,is the core driving force for my country’s high-quality economic development.At the same time,the urban-rural structure of my country’s population is undergoing changes,and the process of urbanization in my country is gradually accelerating.Major cities have successively introduced policies for the introduction of talents,gradually relaxing restrictions on urban settlement,and large numbers of people have flowed into cities.In this context,studying the impact of current urban population agglomeration on the optimization and upgrading of the service industry has important practical significance for my country.This article takes the impact of population agglomeration on the optimization and upgrading of the service industry as the research objective.First,based on the literature review,the concept and characteristics of population agglomeration are defined,and service industry optimization is defined from the two perspectives of service industry advancement and rationalization.Then,it analyzes the influence mechanism of the positive and negative effects of population agglomeration on the optimization and upgrading of the service industry from a theoretical perspective:The positive effect improves the labor productivity of the service industry and promotes the advance dization of the service industry through the labor market pool effect and the externality effect of human capital;Negative effects mainly inhibit the optimization and upgrading of the service industry through environmental destruction effects and excessive competition effects.On this basis,this paper selects the data of 20 sub-provincial and separate cities in my country from 2004 to 2017,and uses the instrumental variable method to empirically test the effect of population agglomeration on the optimization and upgrading of the service industry.The explanatory strength of the model,this article expands the regression model’s interpretation of the dependence between variables by adding cross terms.The research results of this article are as follows:First,population gatherings increase the degree of sub-projects of the city’s service industry and increase the level of specialization of various departments.The agglomeration of various populations meets the development needs of emerging industries,and ultimately promotes the advanced development of the service industry.The positive effect of the advanced development of the industry will increase with the improvement of human capital level and the improvement of urban infrastructure construction.Second,the current stage of population gatherings inhibits the rational development of the service industry,that is,the current population concentration reduces the overall production efficiency of the service industry.This is mainly because the urban infrastructure construction and service industry development model cannot meet the rapid population agglomeration rate,which leads to the saturation of labor in the region,insufficient urban carrying capacity and the current service industry development model is not mature enough,and some labor flows Low-skilled or unsuitable jobs,the overall layout of the labor force is unreasonable,and the mismatch of labor and employment positions will eventually lead to a decrease in production efficiency.From the regression results of the interaction terms,it is concluded that the inhibitory effect of population agglomeration on the rationalization of the service industry will decrease with the improvement of human capital level and the improvement of urban construction,indicating that the agglomeration of high-quality population and the improvement of urban population carrying capacity will promote The rational development of the service industry.Finally,according to the previous theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,combined with my country’s actual situation,this article puts forward specific recommendations from the perspective of population agglomeration and the effects of population agglomeration.
