Research On The Effect Of Digital Economy On Industrial Labor Productivity

In the post-financial crisis era,global economic growth is slowing down,and China’s economic development is confronted with a period of shifting gears,painful structural adjustment,and the digestion of previous stimulus policies.Especially since the outbreak of the epidemic,the international and domestic situations have become more complex,and the world is facing profound changes unseen in a century.The 2020 Central Economic Work Conference clearly stated that we will vigorously develop the digital economy,strengthen investment in new infrastructure,and expand investment in equipment upgrading and technological transformation in manufacturing.The development of digital economy has become a new way of thinking and breakthrough to solve the complex problems in the process of development,and is an important driving force for stable economic growth.This paper takes statistics,econometrics,digital economy theory,labor economics and so on as the theoretical guidance,and takes "the internal correlation between digital economy and industrial labor productivity" as the main line of research.First of all,through a systematic review of Chinese and foreign literature,grasp the historical context of the research related to the topic,and summarize the relevant connotation and theories.Secondly,it analyzes the status quo of digital economy and industrial labor productivity,and constructs the digital economy development index and industrial labor productivity index on this basis.Then,the direct,mediating and moderating effects of digital economy on industrial labor productivity are tested by ordinary panel model,GMM model,mediating model and threshold regression.Finally,countermeasures and suggestions are provided to further play the role of digital economy in promoting industrial labor productivity and promote the coordinated evolution of the two.Based on the panel data of provinces in China from 2010 to 2018,this paper empirically studies the impact and mechanism of digital economy on industrial labor productivity,and tries to study the internal correlation between digital economy and industrial labor productivity.By constructing the digital economy development index and industrial labor productivity index,the empirical research finds that:(1)Digital economy has a significant promoting effect on industrial labor productivity,and shows obvious regional heterogeneity;(2)In terms of direct effect,the promotion of digital economy to labor productivity is mainly reflected in the multiplier effect on industrial output value and the substitution effect on labor demand;(3)Mediating effect results show that digital economy indirectly affects industrial labor productivity through the mediating mechanism of regional technological innovation and industrial structure;(4)The empirical analysis of the moderating effect finds that marketization and human capital level regulate the digital economy’s promoting effect on industrial labor productivity,and there is a significant threshold effect.Based on this,the paper puts forward the policy suggestions of vigorously developing digital economy,actively using digital economy to improve industrial labor productivity,reasonably resolving the new contradictions under the impact of digital,speeding up technological innovation,optimizing industrial structure,persistently promoting market-oriented reform,and improving the level of human capital.
