With the rapid flow of information and the proliferation of digital products,the information sources available to students are more abundant than ever before.The attraction of traditional learning to students is reduced,and the problems related to the quality of attention in classroom learning and extracurricular reading have attracted the attention of teachers and parents.The academic circle has formed many theories and views about children’s attention to quality.The age stage of school-age children is just in the critical period of quality attention development.Cultivating students’ good quality of attention also has a positive influence on their classroom learning.In the traditional training to improve attention quality,it has been concluded that calligraphy practice has a positive effect on the improvement of attention quality,especially for the patients with Alzheimer’s disease,mentally retarded children,attention deficit children and other patients with insufficient attention.Calligraphy training has the potential to improve other cognitive abilities as well.However,there are few studies on attention quality of ordinary school-age children using soft pen calligraphy.This study attempted to take advantage of the characteristics of cognitive resources,such as cognition,emotion,thinking,memory,hand-eye coordination and so on,which were required in the training of soft pen calligraphy.First of all,the current situation of the fifth and sixth grade students in a primary school in Chongqing was investigated,and the differences of their attention quality and various dimensions in age,gender,whether there is soft pen learning experience and learning duration were analyzed to understand their development status.Secondly,according to the results of the survey,the experimental group(30 people)and the control group(30 people)who had no learning experience of soft brush calligraphy and had low scores of attention quality were selected.Using the self-designed soft pen calligraphy training program,students were trained to pay attention to quality and various dimensions of intervention.Thirdly,the experimental intervention was used to analyze the pre-test and post-test to verify its effectiveness.Finally,the typical cases in the process of intervention are analyzed.The results showed that:(1)The quality of attention and the scores of each dimension are different in learning experience,learning duration and age of different soft brush calligraphy.(2)Soft pen calligraphy training program has certain effects on students’ attention distribution,attention span,attention stability,attention transfer and attention quality.
