As a public educational institution,higher vocational colleges undertake the national vocational education function of "training hundreds of millions of high-quality laborers and tens of thousands of highly skilled professionals",and have become an important part of my country’s higher education.In order to achieve the goal of talent cultivation,student management in higher vocational colleges has become an important part of higher vocational education.However,with the development of the times,the student management of higher vocational colleges has shown new characteristics.At the same time,affected by some traditional factors,the student management of most higher vocational colleges is not effective and has many problems.As a public educational institution,in order to cultivate talents and provide talent resources for the country and society,higher vocational colleges should analyze the problems in student management,combine the characteristics of the times,establish correct management concepts,innovate management ideas,and adopt targeted Management methods and effective management methods improve the effectiveness of student management.Therefore,how to combine the characteristics of the network age and use public management theory to discover the problems in the effectiveness of student management in higher vocational colleges and finally explore the countermeasures to improve the effectiveness of student management is worthy of in-depth study.Starting from the purpose and significance of the research,this paper sorts out and summarizes the research results on student management at home and abroad,and explores and summarizes the core concepts and related theories related to this topic.Taking into account the generalizability and reference of the research results of this thesis,this article takes five higher vocational colleges in Guizhou Province as specific cases,and is effective for current student management through case analysis,literature research,comparative research,and questionnaire investigation.Conducted in-depth investigations.It is believed that the problems in the effectiveness of student management in higher vocational colleges are mainly the single goal of student management,the lack of modernity in student management concepts,the insignificant role of the student management system,the insufficient compatibility of student management content,and the The method lacks flexibility and the overall effect of student management is insufficient.Finally,on this basis,combined with the characteristics of the network age,comprehensively apply public management theories,and use "democratic management" in student management from a "people-oriented" perspective.And "target management" and other theories,put forward constructive opinions that will help improve the effectiveness of student management in higher vocational colleges.First,establish a "service-oriented" teacher-student relationship and form a new management concept;second,strengthen "democratic management",Build a new management system,third,innovate student management content,improve student management content compatibility,fourth,focus on student management process control,implement "target management methods",fifth,focus on networked management,and promote diversification of management methods,Sixth,strengthen the government’s guiding function and improve the overall effectiveness of student management.Relevant research conclusions can provide useful references for student management in other vocational colleges in Guizhou and even the whole country.
