| There is a significant correlation between approximate number system and symbolic mathematical ability,and the accuracy development of approximate number system may be the basis of children’s future complex symbolic mathematical ability;in recent years,many studies have shown that approximate number system is trainable,and the arithmetic performance of adults and children can be improved through approximate number system training,but most of the previous training forms are suitable for adults,mainly in the laboratory,and not used for daily education and teaching.Its external validity and the applicability for children is not yet clear.Due to the complex structure of symbolic mathematics ability,in order to clarify the effect of approximate number system on the symbolic mathematics ability of children,this research will focus on the core structure of number-related in symbolic mathematics ability of middle-class children’s number sense,and conducted two researches.The first research examined the gender difference in the accuracy of approximate number system and number sense,and analyzed the relationship between approximate number system and the dimensions of number sense(singing number,number object correspondence,number symbol identification,ordinal number,comparison,addition and subtraction operation).Based on the results of the first research on the correlation between approximate number system and number sense,and the second research based on approximate number system training paradigm,combined with the arrangement of the mathematical games,the game-oriented design of the original training task of approximate number system was carried out.The content characteristics of the original training task were retained,and its organization form was improved.Started from the game goals,materials,progress,playing methods and rules,designed a card game plan suitable for children with approximate number system training,and finally adopted a mixed experimental design of 2(time:pre-test,post-test)×2(game group and control group)design to test the effect of approximate number system training games on approximate number system and number sense.The research results showed that:(1)There is no significant gender difference between approximate number system and the dimensions of number sense in the middle class stage;(2)The indicators of approximate number system of the middle class children are significantly related with number sense and its dimensions;(3)Approximate number system training games effectively promotes the development of the accuracy of approximate number system for the middle class children;(4)Approximate number system training games can effectively improve number sense of the middle class children;(5)Approximate number system training games have different effect on the degree of number sense of the middle class children,mainly affecting the correspondence of numbers and objects and addition and subtraction operations.Finally,combining the research results and approximate number system training games,four educational suggestions are put forward:First,kindergartens should develop approximate number system training activities for preschool children in the form of games;Second,kindergartens should strengthen teachers’ knowledge reserves and guidance capabilities in approximate number system develop for children;Third,teachers pay attention to individual differences in the development of children’s number sense and the mathematical intervention for children with mathematical difficulties;Fourth,parents should increase opportunities for children to learn approximate number system in the family environment. |
