As an inevitable pathway to promote the development of core literacies,unit teaching is an important initiative in curriculum reform and an important vehicle for implementing in-depth learning.It follows that unit teaching is bound to become the mainstream of development,with emphasis on unit teaching design at all stages of education.Based on the analysis of previous research findings,there is a long history of research on unit teaching and new theoretical foundations are constantly emerging.In studying the design of unit teaching in specific subjects,research on the subject of primary school languages has a complete system,so how can the design of unit teaching be carried out in the subject of primary school m athematics?What are the design principles and methods to be followed?In view of this,this study looks at primary school mathematics to explore how to construct a framework for unit instructional design in primary school mathematics.Therefore,this study uses the UbD theory as the theoretical basis to follow the"what?,"How to do it?" and "How does it work?" The study was developed along the lines of "What is it?Firstly,"What is it?" discusses the core ideas of UbD theory and the characteristics of primary school mathematics unit teaching,and analyses the theoretical applicability of UbD theory and primary school mathematics’ unit teaching;secondly,"How to do it?" This is a theoretical analysis of the design of primary school mathematics units based on UbD theory,including connotations,characteristics,design ideas,basic principles and implementation suggestions;finally,"What Works" is a practical exploration of the design of primary school mathematics units based on UbD theory,using experimental methods to explore the effectiveness and The design is combined with specific case studies.Analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental and control classes showed that the effectiveness of the instructional design using this process was significantly higher than that using the traditional instructional design.The UbD theory of unit design is divided into three main stages:specifying the intended outcomes-selecting appropriate assessment evidence-and designing learning activities and experiences.Incorporating elements of unit instructional design into UbD theoretical design thinking to construct a specific process for the design of this study:pre-preparation(clarifying unit topics,identifying core broad concepts,planning basic problems),goal setting(determining unit objectives,arranging lesson plans),assessment development(unit assessment development,lesson assessment design),and activity design.Each step in the design is interconnected to promote deeper learning and core literacy development for students.
