Research On Rural Grandparents Intergenerational Upbringing And Family Endowment From The Perspective Of Intergenerational Support

The core of rural social construction and social work lies in the family,among which the intergenerational relationship is an important factor to be considered.With the social changes in rural areas,the phenomenon of intergenerational upbringing in rural families has become more and more common in recent years,which is attributed to the continuous influence of traditional concepts,the increasing life pressure and the lack of corresponding security system.With the rapid development of economy and the intensification of the trend of population mobility,people’s livelihood means are gradually diversified.In the case of the large number of rural young and middle-aged labor force transfer,the rural family structure is showing a trend of miniaturization,algebra reduction and inter-generational residential separation.On the one hand,the rural elderly without old-age security are looking for value for their old age life and "outlet" for their old-age life,on the other hand,they are gradually entering into the family relationship of intergenerational rearing.The existing academic research or social work practice focuses more on the grandchildren or parent-child relationship in the intergenerational rearing,but not enough on the grandparents of the rearing subjects.From the perspective of intergenerational support theory,this paper conducted an in-depth investigation and research on 15 grandparents who had or were having intergenerational support in S village of Tianjin by using interview method and participatory observation method.Through the interview,the author obtained the current situation and typical characteristics of the rural intergenerational upbringing.Based on the basis of why intergenerational support comes into being and the reasons for the generation of intergenerational support,four types of generational parenting are summarized: instrumental generational parenting,authoritative generational parenting,dedicated generational parenting and exchange generational parenting.And on this basis to the countryside grandparents and willingness to raise are discussed,the countryside grandparents every generation raised intend and intergenerational support has a very close relationship,and in the process of gradually analysis concluded that the bi-directional support grandparents’ generation of raising insulation intend is higher,and with the support of the one-way grandparents’ generation of raising will lower."Downward in rural family doctrine",under the influence of specification and raising became grandparents have to accept the "task",the second generation of filial piety culture norms between the mode of "raising-support",started into "support offspring-raising grandchildren-supporting the elderly" mode,because of the influence of every generation will raise to the old man’s family pension,therefore,In rural social construction and social work,it is necessary to pay more attention to the status of the elderly in the intergenerational rearing family so as to ensure the harmony of family relations and the maintenance of family endowment.
