| Excellent traditional culture is the soul and essence of Chinese civilisation.National school is the cultural achievement and spiritual accomplishment of the Chinese nation accumulated over 5,000 years,containing the great wisdom and moral and ethical outlook of the sages,and possessing great inherent power to enlighten people’s minds in a subtle way.Primary school is the initiation stage of education and plays a fundamental role in the development of students.The development of the National School-based Curriculum at primary school level allows students to learn about traditional culture and experience traditional virtues,which helps them to enhance their cultural and moral qualities and strengthen their sense of national identity and pride.However,in the process of developing and implementing the National School-based Curriculum,there are still tendencies of arbitrariness,blindness and formalism,resulting in the National School-based Curriculum floating on the surface and deviating from the real intention of the state to strengthen the education of excellent traditional culture.Based on this,this study investigates the development and implementation of the National School-based Curriculum in Dalian D Primary School,aiming to understand the specific process of the development and implementation of the National School-based Curriculum in the school,to elaborate on the teaching effectiveness of the National School-based Curriculum,and to summarise and reflect on the direction of efforts after the National School-based Curriculum on this basis,so as to provide reference for the practice of National School education.This study uses a combination of four methods: literature,case study,interview and observation methods to conduct the research.It first discusses the background and origin of the study,the theoretical and practical significance of the study,a literature review,defines the relevant concepts and clarifies the ideas and methods of the study.Then,through textual materials and in-depth interviews,the field research was conducted to clarify the reasons for the development of the National School-based Curriculum of Primary School D and the main subjects of the development,and to elaborate the process and results of the development of the National School-based Curriculum in five aspects: development principles,teaching objectives,teaching staff,teaching contents and evaluation system.Secondly,an empirical investigation of the implementation of the National School-based Curriculum in Primary School D was conducted,which mainly included observation and recording of the National School classroom,in-depth interviews with school leaders,teachers and students,objectively presenting the principles,methods,subjects and effects of the implementation of the National School-based Curriculum in Primary School D.Primary School D follows the principles of systematic,encouraging and diversified forms of implementation;it implements the National School-based Curriculum in three ways: through separate classes,classical recitation and conducting The school-based curriculum is implemented in three ways: through separate classes,classical recitation and a national culture festival;teachers and students are the main subjects of the school-based curriculum;and the school-based curriculum has achieved good results in building a school culture with Confucian characteristics,promoting teachers’ professional development and improving students’ cultural and moral qualities.Based on the analysis of the development and implementation of the school-based curriculum,this study reflects on the future direction of the curriculum: clarifying the educational value of the curriculum,strengthening the training of teachers,building a diversified teaching model and implementing a moral and intellectual evaluation.Finally,the conclusions of this study are sorted out and elaborated,and the problems and shortcomings of this study are rationally analysed. |
