With the continuous development of the aviation industry,the number of flights has increased significantly.However,bird strikes at airports have also occurred frequently and have gradually become one of the major threats to airports,endangering human life and causing property losses.Effectively discovering and expelling birds has become the key to avoiding bird strikes.Therefore,more and more scientific research units have begun to study and design bird detection radars for use in airport bird repellent systems.Bird detection by radar has the advantages of all-weather monitoring,strong real-time performance and high precision,which has important application prospects in the airport environment.In this thesis,an airport bird detection radar is used as the background,and a radar signal processing system which is based on digital array,multi-beam and continuous wave system and combined with micro-doppler and recognition algorithm is proposed and designed.The radar system has the characteristics of low transmitting power,long range,high precision,wide airspace coverage and having certain ability for identification.Based on the airport bird detection radar project,this thesis analyzes and simulates the signal processing method based on digital array and multi-beam forming.An improved channel calibration method for phased array radar is proposed.At the same time,this thesis focuses on the research and simulation of the processing of linear frequency modulation continuous wave and the method of clutter suppression and detection.In order to solve the problem of target recognition for bird detection radar,this thesis discusses and simulates the micro-doppler feature analysis and extraction algorithm and designs and simulates a target recognition method based on bird movement.Finally,based on the signal processing platform of FPGA+DSP,this article completes radar waveform design,radar transceiver timing design,communication and radar signal processing module design and simulation according to the actual project indicators.Based on the actual project index requirements and the actual design for signal processing,the detection range of the bird detection radar for a typical target with RCS of0.006m2 can reach 14.89 km,the range resolution can reach 11.5m,the maximum unambiguous speed can reach 39m/s,and the speed accuracy is less than 0.5m/s.It is able to meet the needs of airport applications.
