The Impact And Mechanism Of Agricultural Insurance On Agricultural Carbon Emission

Global warming has become an urgent and important issue for all countries around the world over the past century.Carbon reduction and emission reduction of agriculture have become an important part of green agriculture and rural revitalization strategies with the continuous advancement of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization,which is also an inevitable trend of national industrial structure optimization.In this context,the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,as a large agricultural province and a large carbon emission province,is facing enormous pressure to reduce emissions.At the same time,agricultural insurance in Inner Mongolia has continued to develop rapidly with the strong support of the national fiscal policy,and achieved relatively good results since 2007.The development of agricultural insurance can guide peasantry to change the traditional production methods and adopt more advanced production technologies,which in turn affects the carbon emission effect in agricultural production.Based on the agricultural and insurance data of 12 league cities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2007 to 2020,this paper adopts the path of agricultural technological progress to theoretically analyze the carbon reduction and emission reduction effect of agricultural insurance.This study intends to select the two-way fixed effect model and the mediation effect model to explore the direct impact of agricultural insurance in Inner Mongolia on agricultural carbon emissions and the mediating role of agricultural technology progress on agricultural insurance and agricultural carbon emissions.The research results show that the agricultural insurance carried out in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has the effect of promoting the environment.And the development of agricultural insurance can directly promote the decline in the growth rate of agricultural carbon emissions.At the same time,the development of agricultural insurance can also promote the progress of agricultural technology in Inner Mongolia,which in turn affects agricultural insurance and agricultural carbon emissions through the intermediary effect,and indirectly promotes the decline in the growth rate of agricultural carbon emissions,further reducing carbon emissions and reducing carbon emissions.In addition,it is found that the trade openness of Inner Mongolia will weaken the carbon emission reduction effect of agricultural insurance through the moderating effect.Based on this,it is suggested that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region should increase financial support for agricultural insurance,innovate and promote green agricultural insurance products,and guide agricultural producers and operators to innovate and upgrade in the direction of lower carbon and environmental protection.At the same time,improve and optimize the relevant technical management level of trade opening in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,in order to weaken its role in regulating agricultural carbon emissions and achieve a reduction in the total amount of agricultural carbon emissions.
